Weather Watch: No Jan. 31 Activities

We are closely monitoring the next round of winter weather expected this weekend for our area. Based on the forecast and after consulting with local emergency teams, all extra-curricular activities for Saturday, Jan. 31, have been canceled.

Any decision concerning our Monday school schedule will be shared with families no later than Sunday evening through email/text messages, our websites, social media, and local media stations. If you are not receiving our direct messages, please check your contact information in the Parent Portal.

    My name is David Garrett. I graduated from Duluth High School and then went to Middle Georgia College, where I played football. After that, I went into law enforcement. I was a police officer for the Winder Police Department for almost 17 years where I held the positions of assistant shift supervisor, K-9 officer, member of the SRT (SWAT) team, shift supervisor, and assistant patrol commander. I held the ranks of officer, Sargent, and the Lieutenant.

    In December of 2015, I graduated Magnum Cum Laude from Rhineheardt University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.

    I am married to Brooke (Norman) Garrett and we have two sons, Trey and Levi.
